Star Communities were
selected Ganja region, March 13, 2008 On March 13, 2008 a meeting was arranged in Ganja regional office of Umid HSSC within the frameworks of «Community Investment Program-III» jointly implemented by Save the Children, Umid HSSC, Ganja Regional Organization of "Bilik" Educational Society and Youth Enlighteners under the financial support of BP and Its Partners.
The aim of the meeting was selection of Star communities in the initial stage of the project from the intervention area. For this a Selection Commission was formed consisting BP CLOs, CIP-III leader and Coordinator from Save the Children, Program Director of Umid HSSC, Program Coordinator of Youth Enlighteners, Coordinator Assistant of Bilik Educational Society, Leader of Eyvazlilar community in Goranboy rayon and Municipal leader of Khatinli community Tovuz rayon. Selection Commission members listened the outcomes of the surveys conducted by the Technical Support Team of Umid HSSC, Save the Children, Youth Enlighteners and Bilik Educational Society and the target communities were separately evaluated in special blanks. The outcomes of the evaluation were discussed and the following communities were selected as Star communities within CIP-III.
