Care to Early IDP Children through the Training and Community Participation (Child Support)

LOCATION: Agdam, Agjabadi, Bilasuvar, Barda, Imishli, Mingechevir, Saatli, Sabirabad, Tartar, Fuzuli, Khanlar, Shaki, Goranboy 

DURATION: April’ 2003-December’ 2003

OUTCOMES & ACHIEVEMENTS:
  • Total project beneficiaries comprises 4.500 people; 

  • 293 meetings and 114 round tables were arranged in CDCs with careproviders and community members; 

  • Each community selected its group of activists consisted of 10-12 people for the first time, and Parent-Careprovider Associations (PCA) were formed; 

  • PCA and funds were formed in 8 CDCs, and initiatives were observed in 18 CDCs for formation of PCA and Funds; 

  • Representatives of local Executive Committees, schools’ personnel, small entrepreneurs, ordinary community members began the activity of funds’ development; 

  • Certain problems were settled in 10 communities under the support of municipalities and local Education Departments; 

  • At first, total 20-30 people paid membership due to the Fund. At present, there are about 250 active members of the funds formed in CDCs, who make a decision about the usage of a finance collected in the funds, and require a report on the expenses; 

  • Methodic means, didactic materials were distributed for capacity building of CDCs’ careproviders, and relevant clarifications were provided; 

  • 63 careproviders received a training on 5 topics, and increased their capacity; 

  • At the beginning of the project, 610 children attended CDC, but now more than 2000 children attend them; 

  • An ExCom representative was selected to the membership of the Consulting Board in Agjabadi “Takhta Korpu - Lachin” CDC; 

  • A decision about the move of Mingechevir “Taravaz sovkhozu” and Fuzuli “Karimbayli” CDCs to another premises was cancelled due to the meeting with ExCom representatives. Agdam “Guzanli”, Fuzuli “Yaglivend” CDCs were moved to the new premises as the result of the relations formed with local ExComs; 

  • Local ExCom representatives was elected to the membership of the Consulting Board of PCA in Fuzuli “ECHO Finn” settlement; 

  • CAT Leader and ExCom representative were elected to the membership of the Group of Activists of PCA in Saatli “ECHO Finn” settlement; 

  • CAT Leader of Imishli “ECHO-1” was elected to the Group of Activists of the PCA;

  • CDCs’ performance was restored after the conversations held with ExCom representatives in the settlements #2 and 5 related to movements in Bilasuvar; 

  • Physical condition of the CDC in Shaki “Demir yol” IDP settlement was improved. This activity was realized through CAT Leader’s Mobilization and UMID’s initiative.
