Community Development in Sitalchay settlement and provision of the settlement with potable
water

LOCATION: Sitalchay settlement of Khizi region
DURATION: March 10 – August 31’ 2003
OUTCOMES & ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. Sustainable development:
-
Transparent and democratic Community Action Team (CAT) which is able to
represent the community, identify the community problems & priorities, involve the community resources for the solution of problems have been formed;
-
Community’s 2-year action plan have been formed;
-
Community Fund has been formed & started its activity.
2. Water problem:
-
Problem of the potable water have been settled in Sitalchay settlement;
-
Community and the municipality cooperated on construction of the water line; procedures for effective usage of community and municipality resources elaborated and improved in solution of future problems;
-
220 families, 1200 people, as well as 40 IDPs were provided with potable water;
-
Community initiative has been raised.
