Apprentices
were awarded with certificates and provided with
finance to begin their business activity
The 11th of April,2008, Baku
19 youth received vocational skills through apprenticeship method in
Sahil settlement of Garadagh region were awarded with certificates on
April 11, 2008.
Apprenticeship courses were organized within the framework of Future
Communities Program implemented by «Umid» Humanitarian and Social
Support Center under financial support of BP and its partners, and
technical support of Save the Children.

55 youth from Yevlakh, Agdash, Ujar, Kurdamir, Hajigabul and Garadagh
regions were involved in apprenticeship courses within the project. 25
youth out of them were involved from Sangachal, Sahil and Umid
settlements, and acquired vocational skills on hair-dressing, welding,
auto-motor repair, electric motor repair, mobile phone repair, computer
programming from experienced trade-masters during 3-6 months of period.
During the event, JSEP (Jump Start Economic Project) agreements were
signed with 3 apprentices completed the courses in order to support
business start-ups.

Representatives of BP and Save the Children, as well as on-the-job
trainers, apprentices completed the courses and their parents
participated in the event.
