One more Milk Collection Point operation was realized

        Milk Collection Point (MCP) was put into operation in Nematabad community of Yevlakh region 

Inauguration ceremony devoted to the completion of “Milk Collection Point establishment” micro-project implementation in Nematabad community/Yevlakh region has been held in July 8, 2011. This project has been realized successfully within the frameworks of the project “Community based Support to Producers of Dairy products” implemented under USAID’s financial support and BP and partner’s cost share enabled setting up a modern milk collection point equipped with high standard installation, supplies and constructing Waste Water Treatment System mitigating environmental contamination, completing protection fence, planting trees.

This event was attended by more than 65 community members (35 of them were women) and guests.  Ms. Soniya Ridvanova, community leader of Nematabad made an openning speech to congratulate whole community respectively and expressed her and community gratitude to USAID, BP and partners, Umid as well and other related companies and representatives.

Mr.Israil Isgandarov, Umid Director, Mr.Seymur Hamidov, USAID responsible representative,  Mr.Ilham Aliyev, BP local CLO, Mr. Sahib Abbasov, Yevlakh ExCom, Mr. Elnur Sofiyev, representative of ACT project/USAID and community members delivered speeches at the ceremony, highlighted importance of MCP construction with regard to creating new employment opportunities, assisting dairy producers to sell their milk product without spending extra expenses and time for transportation and to derive profit, as well as alleviating women’s work load. 

            Facilitated trainings, advisory services under the project of “Community based Support to Producers of Dairy Products” enhanced mid-scale farmers capacities and skills on high quality milk production promoted their liaisons with Support centers-also underlined in the speeches given.

            Approximately more than1500 persons are anticipated to gain a direct benefit from the project.  A total of 22 441, 10AZN was allocated for the project implementation: 22028,00AZN-contribution of donor, 413,10AZN- contribution of community.
