Us
"Umid" HSSC is an independent national NGO working to help the marginalized
segment of the population, in resolving their basic needs, solving their social
problems, improving the education condition, developing communities, creating
economic opportunities for the people etc.
"Umid" HSSC has been established in 1997 and registered with the Ministry of
Justice in 1998. UMID operates in partnership with UNHCR, DRC, CHF, BP, UNICEF,
USAID, World Learning, Save the Children, British Embassy, and Norwegian Embassy
via its Head office in Baku and sub-offices in Sumgait, Khachmaz and Ganja.
Each of these offices are well-equipped both technically and personally. There
are
about 44 staff serving to the beneficiaries of UMID.
"Umid" HSSC Mission Statement
UMID's mission is to foster solution of social, economic and education
problems of vulnerable people.
UMID's main focus is on:
UMID's staff has participated in international trainings, conferences and forums
to strengthen its capacities. The topics covered by them are: Capacity Building, Technical
Safety, Ethic and Conflict Management. There are also overseas events which
includes conferences in GB, USA, Denmark, Geneva, Moscow, Philippine, training
courses in Israel and Oxford, etc.
UMID has Internal Management and Accounting Orders. Regulations of both of them
have been elaborated and confirmed by the relevant agency. These Regulations
include cost controlling system on procurement and reporting procedures in 2
steps.
UMID's activities were audited by audit companies based on the request of donors
and free audit invited by UMID. UMID's projects were evaluated by the donors,
in order to assure the transparency and efficiency of work. UMID's activities
were audited twice and thus it was justified that it complies with both local and
international laws.

"Umid" HSSC is a member of various local, regional and International
NGO Network and Union of NGOs

"Umid" HSSC also participates in various regional projects. "Umid"
HSSC
implements the Community Development and Community Network project in
cooperation with UN Association of Georgia within the framework of the "Peace and Stability in Caucasus"
project (with the support of DRC and
Humanitarian Department of European Union)
