The Town Hall Meeting on SPPRED:MDGs was arranged in Sumgait
The next Town Hall Meeting (THM) planned to be arranged in 2004 within the framework of Public Education and Outreach Program on State Program on Poverty Reduction and Economic Development was arranged on September 16-17, 2004 in Sumgait.
Head and experts of SPPRED Secretariat provided information about education campaign and monitoring process in SPPRED implementation stage, as well as Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and civil society role in alternative monitoring process within the framework of SPPRED and answered questions in which public representatives are in interested in.
Meeting participants arranged the discussion on 4 sectors – Municipality, Health, Social Protection and Refugees and IDPs. Sector Working Groups’ leaders provided the information to participants about events envisaged in and conducted within the framework of the program on various sectors and took part at the discussions

During 2 days-discussions meeting participants presented their suggestions on events envisaged in the Program.
80 people took part at the meeting including public representatives from Sumgait, Jeyranbatan, Corat, Khirdalan and Saray.
Besides, representatives of World Learning, UNDP and head and experts of SPPRED Secretariat took part at the meeting.
The next SPPRED/MDGs THM will be arranged in Ganja on October 14-15, 2004.
