The project "Restoration of
the Stadium" implemented by Umid HSSC in Zygh area on priority of Inam
community under financial support of BP company helped Fuad Sherifov,
the melancholic pupil of the school # 63, to be back to seething
adolescence life which he had for a long time left. Drawing his
school-friends' attention and taking them to the the stadium, he closely
helped workers and Umid HSSC's employees during repairs-restoration works in
the stadium area. This initiative of Fuad evidently surprised
his teachers, parents and close friends. To see that such an initiative
youth is just Fuad, gladdened everybody.
"During initial surveys one of
children reluctantly answered our questions and quite openly displayed his
doubt to works conducted in the stadium and that everything will be
normal ", - it was Umid HSSC's mobilization specialist Gulana Gouliyeva's
initial impression about Fuad. She much worried about Fuad's indifference
and sometimes even encroachment.
Indeed, the fact that Fuad
becomes so different while growing up, has long ago made both his parents
and class-manager anxious. His father Aghakhan Sherifov, the actor of The
Theatre of the Young Audience, associated his son's indifference towards
events around him with his recently generated disbelief and his affection
for seclusion. "Fuad has his own world. Fuad, who had a very impetuous and
hot-tempered nature when a child, has plunged in himself for several
years and avoids communication with people". In order to return Fuad back
to a normal society, his father tried to draw him to plays staged in the
theatre he was working. In January 28, 2004 our quiet fellow created a
character of a national hero's
son, which was one of
memorable performances of the play "I am an Eagle".
"Fuad loves truthfulness a
lot. In elementary classes he would always display excellent results, but
afterwards he strangely become indifferent towards everything. This
affected his lessons as well, " -Shahnaz Asadova, Fuad's class manager is
characterizing changes observed in Fuad, "But in last several months Fuad
has unrecognizably changed. He takes active part in each event arranged in
the school. Restoration of the stadium has inspired him much more.
Fuad not only is inclined to communication with his friends and also
encourages them to support the repair-restoration works and
prepare to further basketball contests. "
A main factor that motivated
all this process was a suggestion made to Fuad for fulfilling a task which
he considered very responsible. A question given him by Umid HSSC's
mobilization specialist whether it is possible to support together
with his friends a project being implemented in the stadium stimulated
Fuad to understand that he may be an important person in realization of
the project and made him to feel a responsibility for a task assigned to
him. The first step of this pupil of 7b grade was a control over
construction materials brought to the stadium. Then Fuad and his friends
picked graves in the area before spreading the soil here. Presently Fuad
and his friends are assisting in the implementation of the project and
ensuring its protection and appropriate utilization by dilettante
community members. Fuad who displayed together with his friends a special
play in the small basketball play-ground restored within the project makes
himself alike Michele Jordan, a famous basketball player. Recently he has
fallen into such an idea - to have together with his relatives a world
cruise in an unsinkable ship a small model of which he has made.

Main goal of the project implemented by Umid HSSC in Zykh area just is
this - to develop communities up to self-organizing and and self-managing
community level. To achieve this, according to words of Mr. Israil
Isgenderov, director of Zykh Community Development Initiative Project, it
is necessary to give people an environment.
