Opening Ceremony in the Hostel #16

On May 28, front of the Hostel #16 located in the area of “Nargile” community was full of people – about 35 people including inhabitants of the hostel, staff members of “Umid” HSSC Head Office and Zykh Office, leaders of Zykh communities and CAT members were invited to the Opening Ceremony related to the completion of “Fundamental repair of electric system of the hostel #16” having implemented in “Nargile” community.

“Fundamental repair of electric system of the hostel #16” project realized by “Umid” Humanitarian and Social Support Center under “Zykh Community Development Initiative” project implemented in Khatai region of Baku within the framework of Shah Deniz Community Investment Program targeted 517 inhabitants of the hostel.

Total budget of the project started to be implemented based on G-03 BPSD 53472/9/2-MP Contract signed between “Umid” HSSC and “Nargile” CAT on March 01, 2005 comprised 47.412.000 (forty seven million four hundred twelve thousand) AzM. In accordance with the terms of the Contract, project budget was divided between the parties, i.e. “Umid” HSSC and “Nargile” community as the follows:

• Payment by “Umid” HSSC – 42.817.000 (forty two million eight hundred seventeen thousand) AzM;
• Contribution by “Nargile” community (community contribution) – 4.595.000 (four million five hundred ninety five thousand) AzM. 2.275.000 (two million two hundred seventy five thousand) AzM of this amount was provided in-cash.

The following repair and rehabilitation works were conducted under the project:

- Repair of sluice-gate room in the cellar;
- Installation of electric distributors;
- Replacement of cables;
- Installation of automatic machines.

Community contribution:

- Cleaning of sluice-gate room in the cellar;
- Removing wastes;
- Carrying materials to the nearer area;
- Digging channels;
- Putting electric boxes in 9-storeyed building;
- Purchasing cement, flooring tile, sand, emulsion and paint.
