The
first Community Demonstration of the Energy Bus was arranged in Khatai
district, surrounding area of the Textile Complex named after H.Z.Tagiyev

The first
community demonstration of the Energy Bus was arranged on January 12,
2005, by Umid HSSC within the framework of Effective Usage of the Energy
by Communities and Access to Alternative Energy Sources project. Initial
two demonstrations were arranged for Umid and BP staff.
The project aims at raising awareness of the people about effective usage
of the energy sources. The project, started in October of 2003, is being
implemented under the finance of BP, OSCE and International Finance
Cooperation.
The test demonstration was realized in Khatai District, surrounding area
of Textile Complex named after Z.Tagiyev the area where Shah Deniz CIP is
being implemented.
58 community members (29 women, 29 men), 2 representatives of local
executive committee, 3 representatives from OSCE and 2 from BP attended
the demonstation.
Information about safety, as well as
corners and models within the Bus was provided during the demonstrtaion,
working models of the solar collector and sawdust heater were demonstrated
for the visitors of the Bus, brochures and booklets were distributed.
The test demonstration caused community members’ great interest. As they
are settled in urban area the information disseminated on insulation
works, effective usage of energy was valuable background for the
attendees. But there were some attendees who were interested alternative
energy recources for their relatives inhabited in rural areas and took
brochures for them.
Moreover, children of the secondary school #116 received the information
about insulation works, effective usage of the energy, as well as
structure, usage and technical data of the sawdust heater with a great
interest.
As the conclusion of demonstration insulation workswere realized in one
room of the Kindergarten No 315.
