Foundation Digging Ceremony was arranged in order
to install of water purification technologies The first laying down the foundation ceremony was organized in Gulabend community of Ujar region on March 15, 2006 for the purpose of installation of water purification technologies. The event held with participation of community members, BTC and Azerbaijan Rural Investment Project representatives, and members of neighbor communities was arranged within the framework of “Improvement of Potable Water Provision in Communities” project being implemented under financial support of BTC Co. and SCP Co. partners. The project aims at providing the community with potable water through application of modern water purification technologies. Gulabend community injured from a water problem for a long period approached with a project proposal focusing at purification of potable water in this area. Community contribution in this micro project, total budget of which comprises 17 623 AZN, cover 3 976 AZN.
Appropriate place was selected by the community for the purpose of purification of water used by the community through new, ultra-violet technologies, easy and comfortable for utilization of communities, and digging works launched. Basins will be constructed in wells, and water of Upper Shirvan Channel currently used by the population will be given to them after purification through modern water purification units to be installed by the organization of Aquazone selected though a bid. Micro project is planned to be completed in three months.
